AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also serves as captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional soccer for women. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the American women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. After graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the U.S. to score 20 assists and 28 goals for 2012, making her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
