Lee Bass is also the band's long-term drummer. He also co-founded Methods of Mayhem, an rap band. Lee has also been involved in his own music projects. Lee is a proponent of animal rights as well as PETA. In 2010, Lee wrote to Terry Prather, the president of SeaWorld protesting against the treatment given to Tilikum the orca. Lee believed that the orca ought to be released and said that SeaWorld would not comply, because Tilikum is their main donor of sperm. Lee wrote that he was appalled by SeaWorld's sick and devious methods of obtaining Tilikum sperm. Lee said that he would not want to see trainers being killed, as these tragedies were caused by whales' distaste for captivity.
